Workshop - Longyearbyen Initiative (global synthesis of Arctic fox space use)

Abstract

Primary productivity can be assessed with satellite images, but the complex world of remote sensing and geographic information systems can be daunting for beginners. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with some basic remote sensing using an R-package specifically developed for use with Arctic fox home range data. The workshop is open for all but especially aimed for those who want to participate in the Longyearbyen Initiative and analyse their own data. The Longyearbyen Initiative, which was proposed during the 2022 Arctic fox conference, aims to evaluate how home ranges differ between Arctic foxes facing different ecological contexts by comparing spatial datasets across the Arctic.
